Member Services

Shaped by what the Nations need & built to grow with them.

Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council’s Member Services team works across five areas — each one shaped by what the Nations need, and built to grow with them. We do not arrive with a fixed agenda. We show up, we listen, and we find out what carrying it forward looks like for each community.

Land, Water, Food Systems

For Coast Salish and Kwakwaka’wakw peoples, the relationship between land, water, and food has never been transactional. This team works from that understanding, every day.

Supporting food sovereignty, ecological restoration, and place-based capacity building — the Land, Water, Food Systems team works alongside Member Nations to strengthen the relationships between people, land, and food that have sustained these communities since time immemorial.

Technical Services

Every community member deserves a safe, well-maintained home. Getting there takes expertise, planning, and the right support at the right time.

The Technical Services Unit provides Member Nations with the housing and infrastructure expertise that every Nation deserves access to — planning, inspections, policy development, capital planning, and hands-on mentorship for Nation housing staff.

Emergency Preparedness

No Nation should face a wildfire, a flood, or a public health emergency without a plan, a team, and people in their corner.

NmTC’s Emergency Preparedness team helps Member Nations build and maintain emergency management plans, connect with provincial and federal partners, and develop the local capacity to respond when it matters most.

Culture

Rooted in the languages, arts, and traditions of our Member Nations — this work exists to make sure they are never lost.

NmTC is committed to deepening shared understanding of Coast Salish and Kwakwaka’wakw spiritual and cultural protocols, traditions, and languages. Through cultural safety training, community grants, and ongoing learning, this work changes how people show up for one another.

Finance & Administration

Sound finances keep Nations moving. When a staffing gap or a capacity challenge threatens that, NmTC is here to help bridge it.

NmTC’s Finance and Administration team steps in when Member Nations need support — filling staffing gaps, identifying funding opportunities, and building the financial capacity that keeps operations running smoothly.

Networks

When Nation staff come together to share what they know, everyone goes home with more than they arrived with.

Five networks bring Nation staff together across departments and communities — to share knowledge, build relationships, and work through challenges together. When one Nation solves a problem, the Network is how that solution reaches everyone else.

Special Projects

The needs of Member Nations are always evolving.

Beyond our core service areas, NmTC pursues additional project funding to respond to emerging priorities. These projects are driven by what the Nations bring to us — and they reflect the full range of what walking alongside the Nations can look like.
