Member Services

Member Services operates as a cross-functional team, dedicated to assessing existing resources and augmenting them to address the evolving needs of Member Nations. Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council has evolved its service areas over the years to reflect the values, needs and priorities of our communities.

Emergency Preparedness

Naut’sa mawt Emergency Preparedness services support our Member Nations in developing and updating emergency management plans, leading to safer and healthier communities.

This includes participating in Federal and Provincial meetings to advocate for operations and policies in the interest of our Member Nations, as well as pursuing opportunities in training and funding for the benefit of our communities.

Land, Water, Food Systems

Land, Water, Food Systems supports healthy land, water, and food, and the relationships that sustain them. We work alongside Member Nations to reclaim food sovereignty, ecological stewardship, and community wellness. When the land is well, we are well.

Technical Services

The Technical Services Unit provides Member Nations with advisory services, resources, and tools for housing and infrastructure, which include planning, policy, procurement, and building inspections.

We work with Member Nations, liaise with funders and provide support through technical assistance, toolkits, and advice on planning, policy, and processes. We’re dedicated to ensuring successful housing and infrastructure projects for our Member Nations.

Finance & Admin

Finance and Administration provide support to Member Nations by filling temporary and unexpected staffing gaps in their finance departments, and by identifying and securing funding opportunities to address community needs and priorities.

Culture

Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council is committed to continuous learning and to deepening our understanding of Coast Salish and Kwakwaka’wakw spiritual and cultural protocols, traditions, and languages.

The key programs we have to support this learning are our Elders’ Advisory Council and Youth Council.

Member Services recently introduced the Cultural Safety Training Program to support Member Nations in strengthening cultural understanding and promoting safety within their administration staff and communities.

Projects

Beyond the key programs offered by Member Services, the needs and priorities of Member Nations are everchanging.

To remain responsive and provide meaningful support, we seek additional funding for special projects that address these emerging priorities.

Networks

Our five networks serve to bring together Member Nation staff in similar roles to share knowledge, resources, and expertise, build relationships, and reduce duplication through collaboration on policies and documents.

The networks include: CAO Network, Finance Network, Emergency Preparedness Network, Community Food Network and Housing Managers Network.
